In pursuance of the Supreme Court's direction asking for detailed clarification from the health ministry on the issue of debarring medical colleges in the country, the health ministry has now released a detailed aspect of why it denied permission to certain medical colleges while allowing others. The following orders were released on 30th and 31st August in which the health ministry gave a chance to the said medical colleges to put their case on deficiencies forward with the ministry. Following is the list of medical colleges with reasoned orders: 1. Chalemda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences, Karim Nagar: The central government has decided to debar the from admitting students in DM (Neurology) with two seats for two academic years i.e 2017-18 and 2018-19 and also authorize the MCI to encash the bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. 2. Nagar Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Tamil Nadu: The order is not clear 3. Mala Reddy Medical College for Women, Hyderabad: The ministry has reiterated its decision to debar Mala Reddy Medical College for women, Hyderabad from admitting students (150 seats) for two academic years i.e 2017-18 and 2018-19 and also authorize the MCI to encash the bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. 4. Mulayam Singh Yadav Medical College and Hospital: The ministry has reiterated its decision to disapprove the scheme of establishment of a new medical college at Meerut by KSD charitable trust, Meerut for the academic year 2017 – 18. 5. Advanced Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal: The ministry has reiterated its decision to debar the Advanced Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal from admitting students for two academic years i.e 2017-18 and 2018-19 and also authorize the MCI to encash the bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. 6. J.M Medical College and Hospital, Muzaffarpur: The ministry has reiterated its decision to disapprove the scheme of establishment of a new medical college at Muzaffarpur by J.M Institute of Speech and Hearing Muzaffarpur for the academic year 2017 – 18. 7. Era’s Medical College and Hospital, Lucknow: The ministry has reiterated its decision to confirm the conditional permission to the Era’s Medical College and Hospital, Lucknow for the academic year 2016 – 17 and not to allow the college to admit students against increased intake from 100- 150 for the year 2017-18 8. Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai: The ministry has reiterated its decision to disapprove the scheme of increase intake capacity from 150-250 at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai for the academic year 2017-18. 9. Rohilkhand Medical College and Hospital, Bareilly, UP : The ministry has reiterated its decision to debar Rohilkhand Medical College and Hospital, Bareilly from admitting students against increased intake from 100 – 150 for two academic years i.e 2017 – 18 and 2018-19 and also authorizes the MCI to encash the bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. 10. Major S.D Medical College and Hospital, Farrukhabad: The ministry has reiterated its decision to debar Major S.D Medical College and Hospital, Farrukhabad, UP from admitting students for two academic years i.e 2017 – 18 and 2018 – 19 and also authorizes the MCI to encash the bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. 11. Sri Narayan Medical Institute and Hospital: The ministry has reiterated its decision disapprove the scheme of establishment of a new medical college at Saharsa by Shree Narayan Foundation, Saharsa, Bihar for the academic year 2017-18. 12. Surbhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad: The ministry has reiterated its decision disapprove the scheme of establishment of a new medical college at Medak District, Telangana by Surabhi Educational Society, Hyderabad for the academic year 2017-18. 13. Dr. N.Y Tasgaonkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research: The ministry has reiterated its decision disapprove the scheme of establishment of a new medical college at Raigad by Saraswati Educational Society, Mumbai for the academic year 2017-18. 14.
