Please dont eat the seeds of papaya fruit.
Papaya fruit seeds as per this Instagram Influenza (a novel infection worse than Covid) is an Indian medicine for:
➡️Inducing menstrual periods
➡️Tackle unwanted pregnancies/ birth-control
➡️Reduces mood swings & stress caused by vitamin C deficiency
➡️Restores hormonal balance
➡️Helps with period cramps
➡️Improves digestion and bloating.
All of these are complete and utter nonsense.
These are facts:
[1] Papaya seed consumption leads to loss and damage to sperms in males. It leads to complete loss of sperm counts (called azoospermia) as shown in monkey studies. See here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11907624/
[2] In women, papaya seeds do not help reduce unwanted pregnancies.
Whole unripe papaya as shown in pregnant rat studies causes severe uterus contractions. Unripe whole papaya (green color or partially green) contains crude latex that induces “tetanic spasms” of of uterus. It is potentially dangerous and must not be consumed by pregnant women. Normal, ripe papayas and papaya juice made from ripe papayas did not cause any uterus contraction in rats.
See here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12144723/
Yes, papaya fruit consumption in pregnancy is safe, as long as the papaya is ripe.
[3] Papaya seeds and papaya fruit do not induce menstrual periods and is not a recommended or approved contraceptive method in women. In fact, when papaya seeds were fed to female rats, their periods became irregular, completely disrupted along with damaging changes in the uterus.
See here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32490606/
Contraceptive potential is only in men, because it destroys and damages and slows the human sperms.
[4] Papaya is rich in vitamin C, and deficiency of vitamin C is classically known as scurvy. Brain related changes with vitamin C deficiency is only notable in aged/ elderly population and not conclusively shown in healthy people who have normal balanced diets.

Any additional consumption of vitamin C only makes the urine rich in vitamin C and sometime lead to kidney stones. Do not blindly overdose on papaya seed extracts and concentrated smoothies.

[5] Papaya seeds extracts do not restore hormone balance, but as evidence shows in the above sections, it completely disrupts it and has no action on mentrual cramp pain. In fact high/ prolonged doses damages uterus as shown in animal studies.
See here: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… and here pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14623029/
They also do not have any physiological effect of digestion (which itself is a normal physiological process that happens anyway) and none of bloating.
[6] But here is something that papaya seeds can do and that nobody will tell you. In animal studies, papaya seed extracts damaged liver cells, destroyed DNA and caused chronic liver injury leading to cirrhosis. Yes prolonged consumption of papaya seeds can induce cirrhosis as shown in animals. See here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28925838/
…when papaya seeds where given to fish in tanks, it led to their erratic movement, air gulping, loss of reflex, discolouration, molting, loss of scale, and haemorrhage with damages visible over the gill, skin, liver and kidneys. See here: ajol.info/index.php/ajb/…
…but worse is that papaya seeds are a powerhouse of plant chemicals called isothiocyanates that can damage DNA and cause organ damage with cancer potential. See here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10567035/
Enjoy your daily [or weekly] portions of ripe papaya fruit. But do not use the seeds because clinical benefits and recommendations for such do not exist, but potential toxicity has been documented well.
Everything natural is not safe and most importantly, Instagram health-influenzas with the title “Holistic Health Coach” are instantaneously much more dangerous than papaya seeds, snake bites, lighting burns and vehicle crashes put together.
