Prof V. L. Lahiri madam passed away today at Agra. She was a teacher of par excellence.

Former Principal & Dean, S. N. Medical College, Agra

She did MBBS from G. R. Medical College, Gwalior in 1960
Passed MD (Path & Bact) in 1963 from S. N. Medical College, Agra under the guidance of Prof. P. N. Wahi.
She was awarded FNAMS by National Academy of Medical Sciences, N. Delhi in 1989
-She joined as Lecturer in Dept of Pathology,S. N. Medical College, Agra in 1964, later she was transferred to GSVM Medical College Kanpur. She was transferred back to Agra in 1973 as Professor, Pathology
She was Head of Pathology Dept from 1980- 1995, thereafter she became Principal and Dean of S. N. Medical College Agra from 1995-97.
She was wife of Dr. B. Lahiri, Former Professor and Head, Dept of Pathology, S. N. Medical College, Agra. He left for heavenly abode in 2019
She is survived by her daughter Dr. Manasi Ray, Senior Pathologist, Dr Lahiri Pathology Centre, Agra and Son Dr. Amitabha Lahiri, Senior Hand Surgeon at Singapore.
She was awarded a lifetime achievement award during APCON 2018 at Bareilly and recently during UPPATHCON 2023 at Agra along with Honorary Life membership of UP chapter of IAPM.
