Dr. Agrawal’s medical odyssey began in 1964 when he enrolled at SNMC in Agra, a prestigious institution that laid the foundation for his remarkable career. After completing his MBBS, he pursued advanced studies at the same college, earning a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and an MD in Pediatrics. These qualifications solidified his expertise in child healthcare, a field he would passionately serve throughout his life. Beyond academics, Dr. Agrawal distinguished himself as a dynamic student leader and artist. He was awarded the shield of the best speaker of SNMC, a recognition of his oratory skills, and secured first prizes in photography and pencil sketching, showcasing his creative talents alongside his scientific acumen.

A significant chapter in Dr. Agrawal’s life unfolded during his college years when he married his batchmate, Dr. Manorama, who pursued her studies in Ophthalmology concurrently. This partnership of two dedicated medical professionals not only strengthened their personal bond but also enriched their shared commitment to healthcare. After a brief stint in the Provincial Medical Service (PMS), Dr. Agrawal joined the Indian Railway Medical Service, embarking on a long and impactful tenure that would see him serve countless families across India’s vast railway network.

Dr. Agrawal’s career took an international turn when he worked as a Pediatric Consultant and Head of Department at a hospital in Libya for a few years. This experience broadened his perspective and honed his skills in managing pediatric care in diverse settings. Upon returning to India, he continued to make significant contributions within the Indian Railway Medical Service. One of his standout achievements was organizing the first-ever Indian Railway Pediatric Conference in Gorakhpur, a pioneering event that brought together professionals to advance pediatric care within the railway healthcare system. His leadership and organizational prowess shone through, earning him recognition among peers.

An active member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Dr. Agrawal remained deeply engaged in professional bodies, advocating for advancements in medical practice and child health.
