No big change in last 10 years though markets flooded with >20 new drugs.

Antipsychotics- Clozapine, Haloperidol & Risperidone and Depot antipsychotic Fluphenazine. Olanzapine introduced in 2011 & withdrawn in 2015 list.
Addition of Olanzapine & Quetiapine needed. 1/n
In #NLEM National List of Essential Medicines 2022, the enlisted drugs for depressive disorders: Amitriptyline, Escitalopram and Fluoxetine. Imipramine withdrawn in 2015 list.
Addition of Venlafaxine, Sertraline and Mirtazapine needed to complete EDL List. 2/n
In #NLEM National List of Essential Medicines 2022, the drugs for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and Panic attacks: Clomipramine & Fluoxetine
Addition of Fluvoxamine is required to complete basic EDL Drugs. 3/n
In #NLEM National List of Essential Medicines 2022, drugs meant for Generalized Anxiety and Sleep Disorders: Clonazepam & Zolpidem. Lorazepam & clobazam is also available under anti-epileptic drugs. Alprazolam and Diazepam tablets (with abuse potential) withdrawn in 2015 list 4/n
In #NLEM National List of Essential Medicines 2022, drugs meant for bipolar disorder: Lithium, Sodium valproate and carbamazepine form complete list.
Addition of Lamotrigine is needed to complete the list in patients with bipolar disorder. 5/n
Good part of #NLEM National List of Essential Medicines 2022 is introduction of Buprenorphine+/- Naloxone for detoxification of opiate related disorders.
No pharmaco-prophylactic drugs (Naltrexone & Acamprosate) available for opioid & alcohol related disorders. 6/n
Lastly only drug available for dementia is Donapezil in all three #NLEM Lists of years 2011. 2015 & 2022.
Addition of Memantine may complete the EDL drug list 7/n
