Dopamine plays a key role in the brain’s reward and pleasure centers & is involved in a wide range of behaviors & functions eg motivation, attention, learning etc.

👉 When we engage in activities that are pleasurable or rewarding, such as eating a delicious meal or achieving a goal, dopamine release contributes to feelings of pleasure and satisfaction

👉When we engage in activities that lead to excessive dopamine release, such as using drugs or engaging in risky behaviors, we may develop a tolerance to dopamine over time

👉This leads to increased need for it in order to feel the same level of pleasure. So higher levels of alcohol to feel the same amount of kick and similar such behaviours!

👉 This leads to a cycle of unhealthy behavior as we seek out more and more dopamine-releasing activities to achieve the same level of pleasure or satisfaction
👉Hence, its imp to maintain healthy levels of dopamine to promote well-being & avoid problems like addiction

Strategies for regulating dopamine levels and maintaining healthy behaviors:

👉 Engaging in healthy habits such as regular exercise, getting enough sleep and eating a balanced diet
👉 Practicing stress management techniques such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing

❎ Avoiding or limiting exposure to substances or activities that can lead to dopamine overstimulation, such as drugs, excessive alcohol consumption, or excessive screen time
👉 Seeking support for problems related to dopamine imbalances or unhealthy behaviors such as addiction

👉 Engaging in activities that promote long-term satisfaction and well-being, rather than short-term pleasure or rewards

Follow a balanced lifestyle to promote long term well being rather than short term pleasure
