New Delhi, September 27: Renowned neurosurgeon and Managing Director of the Institute of Brain & Spine (IBS), New Delhi, Dr Sachin Kandhari, died following a massive cardiac arrest in the national capital. He was 50.

Dr Kandhari’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the medical fraternity, particularly among his friends, patients and professional associates in Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi.

Known for his expertise in neurosurgery, Dr Kandhari was associated with the Institute of Brain & Spine (IBS), New Delhi, where he served as Managing Director and Director. He was also involved in the development of a 100-bed hospital project in Delhi, which was under construction.

Friends and colleagues remembered him not only as an accomplished doctor but also as a compassionate and humble human being. Tributes described him as a doctor of exceptional ability whose warmth, kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Dr Kandhari also had strong links with Jammu and Kashmir. National Conference legislator and former J&K minister Ali Mohammad Sagar had undergone surgery under his supervision several years ago.

Dr Sachin Kandhari was the son of Narinder Kandhari, a retired Assistant Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, Jammu. He was also the cousin of Mohit Kandhari, senior correspondent with The Pioneer and Hemani Kandhari, correspondent with JK News Today.

He was married to Dr Neha Sharma Kandhari, daughter of Dr Khem Raj Sharma and Dr Champa Sharma of Sunderbani, Rajouri. The couple have a son, Yashvardhan Kandhari.

The news of his death has evoked an outpouring of grief from the medical community, relatives and friends, who expressed condolences to his elderly parents, wife, son and the entire bereaved family.

The cremation of Dr Sachin Kandhari will be held at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground, New Delhi, on September 28 at 4 pm.

His death at the age of 50 has been widely mourned as a profound loss to his family, friends and the medical fraternity.
