Dr. Susil Chandra Munshi (also spelled Sushil Chandra Munshi or S.C. Munshi) is a distinguished Indian interventional cardiologist. He serves as Director of the Department of Cardiac Research and Education and Honorary Consultant in Cardiology at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 1991.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Indian College of Cardiology, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Indian College of Physicians, the Cardiological Society of India and the Indian Society of Electrocardiology, Dr. Munshi has been deeply involved in teaching and training programmes in cardiology since the mid-1960s.

He served as President of the Cardiological Society of India (1989–1990) and later remained on its panel of national advisors and national faculty. In recognition of his long service to the specialty, the society conferred its Lifetime Achievement Award on him in 2012. He has also been associated with the India International Forum in Cardiology.

At Jaslok Hospital he has focused on clinical cardiology, research and the education of younger doctors. Colleagues describe him as a meticulous clinician who combines technical skill with a strong commitment to teaching.

“Cardiology advances only when knowledge is shared,” he has often told trainees. “The best results come when experience and continuous learning go hand in hand.”

Through decades of practice, leadership of professional bodies and dedication to training the next generation of cardiologists, Dr. Susil Chandra Munshi has made a lasting contribution to interventional cardiology and cardiac care in India.
