Dr. Kalyan Banerjee received his homeopathic education under the renowned Professor Dr. Parimal Banerji at the Mihijam Institute of Homeopathy. In 1977 he established his own practice in New Delhi. From the very beginning he set aside the second half of every working day for free consultations, a tradition that continues. Over the years the clinic has issued millions of prescriptions, the large majority of them without any consultation fee.

Trained in the management of difficult and advanced cases, he developed a reputation for handling conditions that many considered beyond conventional help—advanced cancers, organ failures, multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, Alzheimer’s disease, neonatal tetanus, complex autoimmune disorders, infertility, and various neurological and chronic illnesses. Patients who had exhausted other options often found their way to his clinic. His approach combined classical homeopathic principles with carefully developed clinical protocols refined over decades of practice.

He has served as an honorary member of the Governing Body of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and has been associated with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Committee and other bodies under the Ministry of AYUSH. He also served as Honorary Physician to four former Presidents of India.

In 2009 the Government of India conferred the Padma Shri on him for distinguished service in the field of medicine. He became the first homeopath to receive this national honour in the medicine category. The recognition acknowledged both his clinical work and his lifelong commitment to making care accessible to those who needed it most.

His son, Dr. Kushal Banerjee, later joined the practice, helping to expand the clinic’s reach while continuing the same ethos of rigorous, protocol-based treatment and extensive charitable service. The clinic today sees hundreds of patients daily and maintains a large registered patient base.

Even after decades of practice, Dr. Kalyan Banerjee remains known for his unassuming manner and his insistence that a physician’s first duty is to serve.

“Medicine is not only about the medicine we prescribe,” he has often said. “It is about the time we give, the hope we protect, and the dignity we restore to the person sitting in front of us.”

From a modest consulting room in Delhi to patients across continents, Dr. Kalyan Banerjee has spent a lifetime showing that careful observation, disciplined practice, and genuine compassion can still open doors when others appear closed.
