Vaidya Brihaspati Dev Triguna

The Keeper of the Ancient Pulse

Born into a distinguished lineage of traditional Ayurvedic physicians, Devendra Triguna learned the sacred art of healing at the feet of his father, the legendary Padma Vibhushan Vaidya Brihaspati Dev Triguna, a master of Nadi Vigyan—the ancient science of pulse diagnosis. He began his practice at the family’s modest clinic in Sarai Kale Khan on the outskirts of Delhi and, after his father’s retirement, took full charge of the clinic that had already become a place of pilgrimage for patients from across India and beyond.

A skilled Nadi Vaidya, he has treated a wide range of chronic and complex conditions—including blood disorders, kidney ailments, abdominal diseases, skin disorders, spondylitis, asthma, arthritis, insomnia and hypertension—through classical Ayurvedic protocols and lifestyle guidance. He has served as Honorary Physician to the President of India and holds the positions of President of the All India Ayurvedic Congress and the Association of Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicine. He has also served as Vice-President of the Central Council of Indian Medicine and as Visitor of Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, working to strengthen and standardise Ayurvedic education and practice.

In recognition of his lifelong service to the ancient science of life, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2009.

Today, at the clinic in Sarai Kale Khan where generations of the Triguna family have listened to the pulse of humanity, Padma Bhushan Vaidya Devendra Triguna continues the sacred tradition. In the quiet reading of the nadi and in the countless patients restored to balance, his legacy endures—preserving the wisdom of Ayurveda with humility, skill and unwavering devotion.
