WHY ONLY DOCTORS ARE SOFT TARGET FOR PUBLIC, MEDIA AND GOVERMENT?
Dear colleagues
Recent incidence in Fortis Gurugram, I would like to tell you few facts regarding patient care in cooperate/Private hospital.
ONCE YOU ENTER COOPERATE/ PRIVATE HOSPITAL
From the very beginning meter starts
Registration fee + file charge (No share of Doctors)
Room rent+ Nursing Care Charges + RMO charges (No Consultant or Doctors Charges)
Investigation Charges
Disposable Charges
Medicine + syringes+ Glove Charges (Most of hospital are having their own Chemist outlet and patients are pressurized to buy n cannot purchase from outside
Ventilator Charges n other machineries charges
Instrumental charges, etc.
Above all charges go to hospital a/c
Doctors get only two visits per day irrespectively of time spent by Consultant
At the end of day, it is VIEW OF PUBLIC
“DOCTORS HAVE LOOTED”
I ask Media, Politicians and Government
WHY ONLY DOCTORS ARE SOFT TARGET FOR PUBLIC, MEDIA AND GOVERNMENT AND BLAMED?
In this era, everyday something is happening against doctors.
Now, it is easy to condemn any Doctor who is involved and it does not mean each and every doctor is involved in such type of scandal (It is not true for every Doctor)
If we are talking about the cuts or the commissions in the medical fraternity, especially for the doctors without knowing facts, it will not be fair.
Why only doctors are soft target?
I will ask the following questions from public, media and government who is at fault.
Most of the hospitals, they take the hospital cut/commission from the doctor’s professional charges 15% to 20% (either regular or courtesy consultants).
Most of the hospitals are not having the facilities of MRI and PET-CT at their premises and they get it done from outsides and take their share/cuts/commission from the Diagnostic Centre.
Most of the hospitals are allotted the plot at charitable rates at minimum charges and they are not giving any facilities for the poor patients on which ground they have been allotted the plot.
All doctors are doing free OPD at various hospitals and hospitals charge Rs. 20/- to 50/- per OPD card as a consultation of doctor (NO Share of Doctors). If the patient is prescribed any medicine which is available at the higher rate and patient will say that the doctor has looted. In fact, the Doctor has not charged even consultation.
All the investigations in the charitable hospitals are at same commercial rates as in other private sectors.
All the hospitals are having their own chemist shop and selling the medicines to the OPD patients at MRP. All the indoor patients are forced to purchase the medicine from the hospital premises (Some time Medicine of Rs. 400/- is sold at a rate of Rs.1600- 2000/- even lifesaving medicines)
All the hospitals are having marketing department. In this department, what the hell is going on?
In the charitable hospitals, if doctor is not satisfied with the reports and send the patient to get investigated outside, the patient would say that doctors are taking their cut/commissions
All Corporate hospital charge Registration fee Rs.100-200 along with consultation fee. Why they charge reg. fee and take 20% cut from OPD Doctor`s consultation charges? This gives wrong impression to patients that Doctor is charging huge amount.
All hospitals charge admission fee Rs500-1000/- plus File charges (Rs 200-300/-).These are charges patients have to pay.
If any Hospital organize any CME than Speaker is asked to arrange Sponsor from pharmaceuticals
Every Consultant (Either Regular/Courtesy) has been given a target to bring patients for admission to continue consultancy on annual basis.
More ever, Now, Doctors are compelled to prescribe Generic Medicine
These are the normal questions for public, media as well as for government, why they are not taking any action on corporate / private hospitals, where patients actually pay more not to Doctors.
Why don`t Government ask cooperate/Private hospital to fix their rate?
Pl unite and do something for forthcoming generation
